Fine Rib Knit

Fine rib is a knitted fabric that shows fine ribs on both sides of the fabric – a 1:1 alternation of one knit and one purl stitch, with each rib formed by a single wale.

Properties

Fine rib is smooth, does not add bulk, and stretches to a degree, following the shape of the body. Its high crosswise stretch makes it especially comfortable in close-fitting garments.

Where you will find it

Fine rib is the classic among rib knits and appears above all in vests, briefs and fine-rib shirts, wherever a smooth look and a comfortable fit are called for.
