Nonwoven (Card Web)

Nonwovens are surface structures made of textile fibres that are bonded together by gluing, fusing or welding – without any yarn, stitches, or warp and weft systems at all.

Made without yarn

Instead of spinning fibres into yarn first, they are laid directly into a surface and then bonded. This creates a material that is neither woven nor knitted, forming a category of its own within surface formation.

Where you will find it

Nonwovens are used above all where reinforcement and support are needed – for example as an interlining in cuffs, collars or other areas that need extra stability without being visible themselves.
