Milano Rib

Milano rib is a knit construction in which one right/right row alternates with one right/left row on both needle beds.

Properties

Both sides of the fabric look the same and show fine stripes running crosswise. Because right/left rows are worked into both sides, the crosswise elasticity is low – the fabric therefore drapes smoothly and keeps its shape.

Milano rib is a popular choice for high-quality, close-fitting underwear and shirts where a calm, refined fabric look and shape retention matter more than maximum stretch.
