Core Yarn

Core yarn is a yarn in which a filament – the core – is wrapped with another yarn.

Two properties in one thread

Wrapping combines the properties of the core with those of the wrapping material. The elastic, shape-recovering effect of elastane at the core, for example, is combined with the positive properties of cotton on the surface.

Why this matters for your underwear

Core yarn is found in almost every stretch garment: it lets waistbands and seams stretch and spring back into shape, while your skin still enjoys the natural fibre on the surface.
