Design

Design is the actual development of an underwear model – the creative phase of garment making, in which an idea becomes a concrete model.

Two sides of design

On the one hand, design means shaping the look: translating trends into colours, shapes, laces and details. On the other hand it includes the "construction" of the pieces – the right cut. For underwear this second part carries particular weight, because the garment sits directly on the skin and has to follow every movement without slipping or constricting.

From design to series

Design is followed by cut and cutting out before the pieces are sewn. Whether a model goes into series production is decided in the patterning cycle on the basis of prototypes and wear tests.
