Double-faced or Right/Right Goods

By alternating the needles in knitting, knit and purl stitches can be produced in a chosen sequence. Both sides of the fabric then show knit and purl stitches – this is called double-faced fabric or right/right binding (R/R). Here too, the thread runs horizontally.

One technique, many fabrics

This technique and its many variants produce an almost unlimited variety of knitted fabrics – such as openwork (ajour) fabrics, interlock, Milano rib or left/left qualities. The best-known R/R qualities are fine rib and double rib.

Seamless from the knitted tube

Garments made from knitted tubes, such as vests, are usually worked seamlessly. This means, however, that a machine with the matching tube size must be available for every garment size.
