As a leader in German underwear market, SCHIESSER's origins go back to the year 1875. In a rented ballroom in Radolfzell, Germany, Swiss factory owner Jacques Schiesser and his wife Malwine started the production of knitwear on so-called circular knitting machines.

At the Paris World Exhibition in 1900, Jacques Schiesser received the "Grand Prix" prize for innovations such as the "woven jersey" and "tough laundry," the first precursors of the now-legendary SCHIESSER fine rib and double rib underwear.
